Our latest project!

So this afternoon around 3:00 Dusty looks at me and says, "What you want to do today?"  and I said, "Knock out the kitchen wall?"  So we did.  When we moved into our new house there were two walls that I thought didn't need to be there.  In our kitchen there was once a large picture window that looked out onto the backyard, when the previous owners build a sun room onto the house they closed in the window and doing so eliminated all light.  I LOVE sunlight pouring into our home, so when we moved in I was very persistent that the wall had to go.  Today we were able to knock out all the sheet rock and pull up the baseboards.  If you've ever worked with sheet rock you know it makes a HORRIBLE mess, so we took a break and cleaned up what we had done so far.  Then we went to Lowe's to get our supplies.  Since the sun room has a separate heating/cooling unit we wanted to be able to close it off in the dead heat of summer or the bitter cold of winter.  We decided to get double open french doors!  I am SO excited to get them put up, I think they are going to look great!  We are taking lots of pictures, but I don't want to post before until we have after.  It is taking all the strength I have to go to bed with such a mess still in the house.  I even mopped the kitchen floor, and Dusty just looked at me like, don't you think we are probably going to make another mess tomorrow.  Oh well.  Stay tuned for more home improvement updates.

The Best Class EVER!!!

Here is the blog I promised from my class!

Tell us about your wedding.  Dusty and I were married on May 26, 2007 in Gordo, AL .  I wore a white dress and Dusty wore a black tux.  Mrs. Glasgow was my maid of honor!  Briley was the flowergirl.  My cousin Will was the ring bearer.  Yes this was my first wedding and my last!

Tell us more about BooBoo.  Dusty and I just bought a new house.  When we got there we found a visitor! The previous owners had left their CAT!!!  Now if you know anything about Mrs. Jones or Dusty you know that we do NOT like animals!!  (This has sent my class into a frenzey!!)  One day Dusty was walking into the garage and the cat jumped out and scared him! At this point we started calling him BooBoo because Dusty said he was going to have a BooBoo if he diddnt find another home.  BooBoo is white with brown and black spots.  We dont know if BooBoo is a boy or a girl.  BooBoo has other cat friends in our neighborhood.  No BooBoo does not eat Dusty's socks!

Tell us about your new house.  Our house is a brick and one story with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.  It has a sunroom and a dining room with a living room in the middle with a fireplace.  We have a garage below our house where Dusty keeps his toys.  In our backyard we have three sings! It does not have a fence and 18 windows.  And YES it is still a mess right now.

Tell us about you!  My favorite color is pink and green!  My favorite junk food is chocolate!  My favorite food is dessert!  I can run 0 laps in 2 hours! :) Bobby is my brother and Briley is my cousin.  Dusty is my husband.  Mrs. White is our helper and she goes to my church.  Her name is Cassie and her husband's name is Dusty!!!! We are good friends.  Maggie is in my class and she is friends with Briley.

I love my class!!!!! This was our blog together!

The BEST blog to come!

So I teach 1st grade and I LOVE my job every year.  However, this year is particularly special for me because I looped up with these same children from kindergarten. Now I must say this has been the BEST opportunity for me for so many reasons we all get along so well, we know each others likes and dislikes, we have fun and we learn! But it also has one major problem that I have found....I can't imagine my life without them in it each day.  I dread May and the changes it will bring more each day, these children will always be my babies and they will never know how much I love them.  Okay, okay I know enough with the mushy.  As a class we have been learning about different ways to communicate and they got to view the Blog today and were amazed!  I decided to take that opportunity to have them write to tell me what my next blog should be, well you should see what they came up with.  I told them I would blog for them tonight, but as I got to thinking about it I decided to let them help me tomorrow, thus my post the BEST blog to come....tomorrow! :)

Happy Birthday Bobby!

Today is my brother's birthday.  He was 25!  There are so many things I love about him, but one of the things is the way he acts like a nut.  In the picture above he put on my rainboots and danced around the room on Christmas night this year.  I also inlcuded a picture of the fabulous four.  Look how our family has grown.  As with all things I am SO blessed to have a man of God like Byron as a brother! Happy birhday I love you Bobby!!!

What a TRIP!

On  Friday afternoon Dusty had a trip planned for the youth to go to six flags.  Being the "team player" that I am, I went along and drove my car to be able to help out in anyway I could.  Now, some of you may remember the last time I attended six flags I beacame very sick.  This could have been motion sickness or extreme heat either way it was a TERRIBLE day! So as with most things, what do I think is reasonable after something is a disaster...try it again.  Today I was able to make it through a couple of rides and be fine, but I pushed my limit and let me just say there will NOT be a third attempt at six flags.  After I through in my hat and decided not to have a "Six Flags Day" I thought hmmmmm Atlanta....shopping? I think I will.  I spent the rest of my afternoon in a huge mall in Atlanta and the surrounding areas sometimes lost, sometimes found but I have definatly decided where the next girls trip will be.  Finally after 765,981.4 hours in the car driving we are home safe and sound ready for another full day tomorrow and a new work week.

My First Attempt at the "Blog"

So this is my new sister-in-law which I LOVE.  She and my brother were married February 12, 2011 and we are very excited to have her as part of our family.  This was the last exciting thing that our family did other than our big "move" but I really dont have any pictures from the move since I've lost my camera battery charger :( but trust me it's still a mess, maybe one day it will all be complete.  We are very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends who have helped us out SO much the past few weeks including the beautiful sister above.  Here are more of the people we LOVE who have helped us very much!
